Zomigon
zolmitriptan
A tablet of Zomigon contains zolmitriphan 2.5 mg. Zolmitriphan is a 5 hydroxytryptamine agonist, which helps in relieving migraine headaches by constricting the blood vessels in the head.
Zomigon is specifically designed for treating migraines with or without aura. It is best to use the drug as soon as you see the symptoms of migraine.
Zomigon helps in relieving:
- Migraine
- Migraine symptoms like: Nausea, Vomiting, Light and sound sensitivity.
Zomigon however, is not helpful in curing consecutive migraine attacks. Zomigon provides only temporary relief to migraine pains. In case of repeated head ache dose can be repeated after two hours from the administration of the first dose. The maximum dose should not exceed 10mg in 24 hours.
Drug Administration
Zomigon comes in tablet forms and should be ingested orally. Half tablet should be ingested orally after sensing the first sign of migraine. The drug should be used exactly as directed by the physician. Plenty of water should be consumed along with the drug.
Zomigon Side Effects
Most of the side effects of Zomigon are transient and wanes after few days. In some cases, medical condition interacts with the drug and hence it is wise to discuss with the doctor regarding any condition of your body.
