Uprima is a new oral drug used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. It contains a chemical known as apomorphine which is also used as a treatment for Parkinson’s disease. Uprima works on a part of the brain called the hypothalamus. It stimulates receptors in the brain which influence the process of having an erection. By stimulating these receptors erections occur more easily.
It is recommended that you take the Uprima sublingual tablet 20 minutes prior to sexual activity. It is best to drink a small glass of water before taking the tablet to help the dissolving process. After drinking the water, place the tablet under the tongue. Do not chew, just let the tablet dissolve. In the majority of patients, the tablet will be dissolved within 10 minutes.
An erection should occur when sexual activity starts. It is recommended that patients start with a 2mg dose and increase to 3mg if necessary to reach the desired clinical effect.
In other words, first start with the 2mg dose and when you use it again, take 3mg if necessary. Most of you will find that 2mg is ample and will not need to increase the dosage. No more than one tablet should be taken in an eight hour period.
