Testosterone Propionate is used in men who do not produce sufficient amount of testosterone in their body that is required for normal growth and development of genital organs, muscles and bones. The hormone is also responsible for puberty in boys. The androgenic class of drug works by affecting the body systems so that they start producing the hormone naturally.

Testosterone Propionate is mainly used for treating delayed puberty in boys and in women; the drug is used for the treatment of advanced breast cancer.
Testosterone Propionate Administration
Testosterone Propionate is given in the form of injections intra muscularly once every 1 to 4 weeks or exactly as directed by the physician.

The dosage of Testosterone Propionate depends upon the medical condition of the patient, blood testosterone levels and the body response to the treatment.
Precautions
Before administering the injection, check for any solid minute particles in the injection vials. Presence of such particles should be taken as a confirmation to not to use the vial. In case of self administration of the drug, it is recommended learning injection procedure from an experienced person. Needles and syringes should also be discarded safely after the use.
It is also recommended not to suddenly stop the injection if you use large dose for a long period, as the body cannot adapt to the sudden change and might show withdrawal symptoms like tiredness, weakness, depression, etc. In order to stop the drug, it must be stopped only gradually or as advised by the doctor. Testosterone dipropionate is stored at temperatures between 20 to 25 degree Celsius. Storage temperature between 15 to 30 degree Celsius is also broadly accepted. The drug should be stored away from direct heat, sunlight and moisture. Keep away from pets and children. Expired drugs should also be discarded properly.

Drug Interactions
