Clomiphine stimulates the ovulatory functions in the female and is used as one of the important drug for treating female infertility. Clomid helps the ovary to produce more drugs by stimulating the hormone production.

It is advisable to avoid using Clomid if you are found to be allergic to one or more ingredients of the drug. You also should not use Clomid if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Sudden onset of bleeding in the vagina also interferes with the drug function and hence should not be used. Females suffering from ovarian cyst and enlargement of ovary not due to polycysts also should curb the use of the drug. Blocked blood vessels in the lungs, legs, or in other parts of the body may exaggerate the side effects of the drug. Patients suffering from liver dysfunction, thyroid or adrenal gland dysfunction, or brain lesions should stop using Clomid. It is wise to discuss with your doctor regarding these problems before administering the drug.

Certain medical conditions interact with the drug and hence it’s advisable to consult your health provider before using Clomid. You cannot use the drug when you are planning for pregnancy or even when you are breast feeding. Consult doctor if you are taking alternative medications or any dietary supplement. You should also inform your doctor if you are allergic to any food stuffs, medicines or other things related to health care. Patients suffering from endometriosis, depression, polycystic ovary, uterine fibroids should discuss their present condition with their physician before administering Clomid.

Certain medicines are found to interact with Clomid; however, drug interactions of medical significance have not been found. However, it is advisable to discuss with your health care provider regarding the drug interactions with any of the drug you are taking along with Clomid.

Clomid has to be used by the patients exactly as instructed by the physician. Clomid can be ingested orally with or even without food with the help of water. Proper sexual intercourse is essential for getting positive results and ovulation takes place in the females after 5 to 10 days after the administration of the drug. When pregnancy is not confirmed even after 3 complete courses of clomid, the patients are requested to go and consult the doctor as prolonged clomid treatment is not recommended. When you happen to miss a dose, contact your physician immediately for further actions.

In some cases, clomid administration might produce dizziness, light headedness, and slight vision disturbances like sight blur, spots, flashes etc. The condition may even worse if you consume clomid along with alcohol or other interactive drugs. And, it is not advisable to drive or perform any unsafe activities when you interact with the drug. In some cases, ovary enlargement is seen in short period after the drug administration and you should contact your doctor if this condition prevails. Other conditions like stomach aches, pelvic pain, and increase in body weight, stomach enlargement or discomforts in the abdomen area also can occur. Multiple pregnancies is common during clomid treatments and therefore discuss your doctor for any complications of the treatment. As a safety measure perform lab tests for pregnancy and monitor your physical condition frequently while you are under taking clomid treatment. Clomid should be used cautiously with elderly females. Clomid should not be used among children.

Some of the side effects of Clomid include blurred or flashy or spot vision, tenderness in the breast area, nausea and dizziness, ovary enlargement, hot flushes, change in temperament, head ache, light headedness, stomach aches, and bloating.

When you experience allergic reactions on the skin like rashes, hives, etc, or chest tightness, swelling of mouth, lips, face, tongue, etc excessive ovary stimulation or spontaneous abortion, contact your physician as early as possible to remove the drug from your blood stream.

An overdose of Clomid shows symptoms of dizziness, light headedness, and other related symptoms. You should contact the emergency center room immediately to remove the excessive dose from your body.

Clomid is stored at temperatures in between 15 to 18 degree centigrade, away from heat, direct sunlight, and moisture. The drug should be kept away from children and pets, as well.

When you still not sure about the drug use and dosage amount, it is advisable to contact the physician. The drug is not meant for sharing with other patients as it might lead to hazardous results. When the intensity of the symptom does not wane, contact the physician soon.
