Clenbuterol is a bronchodilator used for treatment of bronchial asthma and helps to breate easier. It belongs to a group of drugs known as sympathomimetics. Clenbuterol exhibits an extremely long half-life, approximately 34 hours long. This makes steady blood levels easy to achieve, requiring only a single or twice daily dosage.
Clenbuterol has a prolonged and strong bronchodilating effect due to stimulation of the beta-2-adrenoreceptors of the bronchopulmonary system and through a direct myotropic action on the bronchial musculature. It possesses secretolytic activity by liquefying the viscous secreta, and facilitates their elimination.
The recommended dosage is 0.02-0.06 mg twice daily. The maximum dosage, which should never be exceeded, is 1,50 mg a day.
